Offering up to 91.0% AFUE (Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency), the 58MCA gives you control over your budget and your environment. Carrier's S-shaped heat exchanger converts about 80% of the heat from the furnace into usable heat for your home. The flow-through condensing heat exchanger extracts another 10.5% of the usable heat so you can enjoy added comfort and energy savings. The electronic control board monitors furnace operation to further ensure accurate, safe and reliable heating.

Why does variable speed make a difference? The XV 90's variable speed blower and draft inducer motor is a "smart" motor, which means it varies its speed depending upon your home's heating requirements. And the Integrally Controlled Motor (ICM) operates quietly, particularly during first stage or low heat operation. During continuous fan operation, the blower operates at 50 percent of cooling airflow, so sound is minimized. And here's another variable speed feature you'll love. Because a variable speed furnace operates at slower speeds, your indoor air quality will greatly improve.
