General Operating Principle

The Model AC-3 utilizes 78 square feet of glass microfiber filtering which intercepts and captures dust, pollen, molds, tobacco smoke particles, bacteria, animal dander and other particulate pollutants down to 0.01 micron in size (a human hair is about 100 microns). The AC-3 also utilizes 18 columns of high quality activated carbon to intercept and adsorb the vapors and gases the particulate filter cannot remove. Both media are contained in a sturdy all metal cabinet positioned in the return airflow of the heating and cooling system. Thanks to the low resistance of the unit, you can be confident it will not interfere with the operation of most residential heating and cooling systems.
